Srinagar, July 21 :- Jammu and Kashmir Police on Thursday claimed to have booked two notorious drug peddlers under the Prevention of Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (PTI NDPS) act in Budgam district.

A police statement said that acting tough against drug abuse and to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Budgam Police booked two notorious drug peddlers under PIT NDPS Act after obtaining formal detention orders from the competent Authority.

The accused have been identified as Shabir Ahmed Sofi alias JK a resident of Mazhama Magam and Asif Nazir Rather of Archanderhama Budgam . The duo drug peddlers have been lodged in District Jail Reasi.

The accused persons were involved in NDPS cases and were promoting drug abuse by supplying drugs to local youth of district Budgam.
