Model Higher Secondary School Sawjian organises awareness programme on Prime Minister’s Special Scholarship Scheme

Poonch, July 19: Model Higher Secondary School Sawjian Poonch Anwar Khan on Tuesday organised an awareness programm for the students of the school to motivate them to take benefit from the Scheme.

The government has recently issued a notification for seeking the Prime Minister’s Special Scholarship Scheme (PMSSS) for students of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh under general stream courses.

Addressing more than 200 students of the school, Anwar Khan informed that under prime minister’s special scholarship scheme every year 5000 Fresh scholarships are given to Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh students to pursue under graduate courses outside the Union Territory of J&K for enhancing their knowledge and skill.

Interacting with students expert resource person Jagandeep Singh explained to the students the eligibility criteria and process of online registration. He also told that

University Grants Commission (UGC) has made CUET (Common University Entrance Examination) compulsory for admission in undergraduate programmes in all Central Universities from the academic session 2022-23.

He also informed that All India council for Technical education has issued the notification and students can register from 19th July, 2022 onwards.  Vice Principal Mohd Shafi Qadri asked students to share this information with all the eligible students of the area so that they may also benefit from the scheme.
