Jammu Jul 18 :- A workers meet was today organized at Sarore in Samba district which was presided over by Dr. Vikas Sharma and Bharat Bhushan both Secretaries Central Zone National Conference and Coordinators District Jammu Urban and District Samba respectively.
The district coordinators listened to the party workers and discussed various issues to strengthen the party at grass root level. Various issues pertaining to the working of the party in Samba district were discussed threadbare.
While speaking on the occasion Dr. Vikas Sharma said that National Conference is the only party which believes in secularism and can fight for the rights of the downtrodden class of the society. He said that the party has taken many historic decisions in the past for the welfare of the marginalized sections of the society. “From Sher-e-Kashmir to Dr. Farooq Abdullah and Omar Abdullah it has served the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir with utmost honesty and dedication”, Dr. Vikas added. He said it was National Conference that kept all the three regions at par with each other. He urged upon the workers to gear up for assembly elections which can be announced anytime.
Bharat Bhushan while speaking on the occasion said that it was under NC’s rule that the erstwhile state was among top states of our country in all indexes. He said from unemployment to literacy Jammu and Kashmir was and is far better position than other states of India. He lambasted those dividing people in the name to religion and region. He said that the time has come to defeat such forces and strengthen the hands of Dr. Farooq Abdullah and Omar Abdullah for lasting peace in the Union Territory. He also urged upon the workers to deliver message of peace, progress and development among the masses. He also asked the cadres to launch a mass awareness campaign in district Samba.
Those who attended the meet include Devi Dass (Panch), Majeed Hussain, Rashid Ahmed, Sham Lal, Thoru Ram, Bansi Lal, Purshotam Lal, Ashok Kumar, Balram Bhagat, Ram Singh, Sushil Sharma, and many others.
