Jammu, June 03, 2022: Expressing serious concern over the spree of targeting killings of non Kashmiris, minorities in Kashmir, PoJK Liberation Front Jammu on Thursday urged the Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah for his urgent intervention into the matter and demanded effective measures to stop innocent killings and ensure the safety of common man and minorities in Kashmir.

On Thursday, a bank employee from Rajasthan was shot dead by terrorists in Kulgam district. This was the eighth targeted killing in the Valley since May 1 and the third of a non-Muslim government employee.

Pritam Lal Sharma, Convenor PoJK Liberation Front Jammu — an organisation of displaced people from PoJK, in a statement issued expressed resentment over the killing of Bank manager Vijay Kumar from Rajasthan working in Ellaquai Dehati Bank (EBD) in Kulgam.

He condemned the killing, which was in line with a series of such shocking incidents and termed the recent situation in Kashmir very grim. “The situation in Kashmir has turned precarious for the non- Muslim & Non-Kashmiri employees working in different parts of Kashmir. These employees were serving there from last 10 to 16 years with no threats. However, the situation has taken a dangerous turn and it has worried hundreds of families belonging to the non-Muslim, minority community,” he said.

Vijay Sharma, Co – convenor PoJKLF said, “govt must take effective measures to stop this bloodshed in Kashmir and ensure their posting in safer places. They are unsafe in Kashmir. The killing of Rajni Bala has spread fear among the employees and hence, it is imperative for the Govt to take immediate measures for their safety.”

The govt just can’t be a mute spectator to the situation which demands immediate & stringent action on the predators and ensure no more precious life is harmed, he stated.
