Udhampur Jun 02 :- In a largely attended ‘Karyakarta Baithak’ at Dhema Mr. Ranbir Singh Pathania, Spokesperson J&K expressed concern over inexplicable delay in start of work on Jal Jeevan Mission, much-talked-of flagship programme of Centre.
Mr Pathania was further apprehensive of delayed operationalization of Jal Jeevan Mission in J & K. He called for actualization of JJM on ground. He said that DPRs w.r.t. ambitious scheme programme of Modi Sarkar have been completed long back and appropriate funds have also been provided by the central government but nothing tangible has emerged on spot as yet. And people of uncovered/partially converted areas are languishing for proper and clean water supply.
He said that hundred of crores are lying in the kitty of the UT government unused. He called for immediate measures to ensure that JJM is virtually actualised on ground and the government’s flagship programme and resolve of ‘Har Ghar ko Jal’ is virtually fructified. He further said that ‘Har khet ko pani’ is another revolutionary resolve of the central government but much more needs to be done inorder to actualise the said scheme within the stipulated time periods. Time and again, time limits and periods which have been fixed for actualisation of the said scheme are being overshot.
Locals demanded repair of out of order hand pumps in district of Udhampur. Hand pumps which had been installed worth lacs of public money are lying defunct due to lack of timely repair. He also took stock of the basic amenities in far flung reaches Garh Samnabanj, Chore Mottu, Babey, Bei Kanara etc of tehsil Majalta.
Those who were present on the occasion included Kuldeep Singh, General Secretary BJP District Udhampur, Shiv Ram Mandal General Secretary, Makhan Lal Mandal Vice President BJP, Dr. B.D Gupta, Retd Deputy Director, Romesh Gupta, Manoj Verma, Mohan Lal, Surinder Singh, Raman Khajuria, Soma Devi, Nisha Sharma all Sarpanches, Hem Raj Gupta, Baldev Singh, Ved Sharma, Sanjeev Singh, Gurdev Singh, R.K Verma, Lochan Singh, Ashok Kumar SC Pardhan, Sham Lal Vistarak, and many others.
