Anantnag, June 1: The Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Anantnag, Bashir Ahmad Wani today presided over the Block Diwas at BDO Hq. Batkoot, Pahalgam and listened to public issues and demands.
A large number of people, PRIs hailing from adjoining panchayats of Block Pahalgam attended the Block Diwas and projected several demands and issues being faced by them. They demanded provision of electricity poles, augmentation of staff in Educational institutions, mobile connectivity in Aru and some other areas among other things.
After listening to their demands and issues, the ADDC redressed many grievances on the spot by passing directions to the concerned officers.
Responding to the demands, the ADDC assured the PRIs and general public of the area that all their genuine issues would be addressed in a time bound manner. He directed the officers to work in coordination so that equitable development of all Panchayats was ensured.
The ADDC requested the PRIs to work efficiently for implementation of welfare schemes on the ground to benefit the public. He asked the officers to inform the people about income generating and beneficiary oriented schemes launched by the Government of India and UT Govt.
The Block Diwas was attended by BDO Pahalgam and officials from various line departments.
