Jammu May 31 :- Tuesday, 31st May, 2022: Today, Hon’ble Deputy Mayor Adv. Purnima Sharma chaired a meeting of engineering department of Jammu Municipal Corporation during which the Joint Commissioner Works, Executive Engineers, Asst. Executive Engineers and Junior Engineers of the engineering department of JMC were present.
During the meeting the ongoing projects, developmental works and work queued for approval were reviewed by the Hon’ble Deputy Mayor.
Also Adv. Purnima Sharma, Hon’ble Deputy Mayor put forward the issue being faced by the various Hon’ble Councillors due to delay in the completion of developmental work and due to the low quality work done by the concerned contractor. In this regard, the engineering department was given strict directions by the Hon’ble Deputy Mayor to make sure the work done by the concerned contractors meets the quality requirements and is completed within a fixed period of time without any delay.
The issue of deficiency of staff including Junior Engineers was brought to the notice of the Hon’ble Deputy Mayor by the engineering department due to which the current working officials including executive engineers , assistant executive engineers, junior engineer and office staff are over burdened due to which the efficiency of work suffers. In this regard, Deputy Mayor Adv. Purnima Sharma replied that she will discuss this problem with the commissioner jmc so that it can be solved efficiently without any delay.
At the end, Hon’ble Deputy Mayor JMC praised all the engineers of the engineering department of JMC for their work and further encouraged them to work in co-operation along with Hon’ble Corporators for the development of Jammu as a whole.
