Jammu Apr 14 :- Baisakhi festival was celebrated with religious fervour and gaiety by organizing many functions and fairs across the Jammu region today. A mega Festival of Baisakhi event was organised under the leadership of Peer Rattan Nath ji And Peer Rajinder Nath ji, Chairman J&K Religious, Tourism, Culture & Heritage, Mahant Rajesh Bittu ji
Div. Com Jammu Raghav Langer inaugurated Peer Kho Baisakhi Mela and performed the Dwaja Aropan ceremony and ceremonial Tawi Ghat Pujan.
Chairman J&K Religious, Tourism, Culture & Heritage, Mahant Rajesh Bittu emphasized the significance of the festival and Highlighted the historical importance of harvest festivals of other States of India.
A number of temporary sweet shops, toy shops, and other eatable corners by the locals as well as outside vendors are the main attraction for the general public visiting the Mela site. For the entertainment of the people at the mela site everything was up to the mark and Jammu will mesmerize audience. He further added that not only the locals come to the grand festival but DDC members, Chairman and corporators form several areas civil administration, police administration and security forces were present.Large gathering of Jummities from different areas were seen enjoying the festival of kites.
At last Mahant Rajesh Bittu thanks the administration, Div Com and police force to mark their presence and made this festival a success and also to people of Jammu
