Leh, April 02: Fisheries Department organised a one-day training and capacity building programme for the fish farmers and entrepreneurs of the Leh district at Fish Farm, Chuchot Shamma.

The programme was presided by Assistant Director, Fisheries, Mohammad Ameen, AD Fisheries Leh.

The programme was organised under the Pradhan Mantri Matsya  Sampada Yojana (PMMSY) scheme to impart training and education regarding the advances in aquaculture and trout fish breeding.

AD Fisheries and other resource persons apprised the farmers about the various prospects of the PMMSY scheme and its benefits.The participants were given practical training about trout fish breeding and were shown the hatchling recently produced in the newly constructed hatchery at Fish Farm Chuchot Shamma.

Inspector, Fisheries HQr, Dawa Nurboo; Inspector, Fisheries Farms and Field, Tsewang Dolma; fish farmers, entrepreneurs and the staff of the Fisheries department attended the programme.
