Srinagar, March 28: The Director Agriculture Kashmir, Chowdhary Mohammad Iqbal today inaugurated the mission exotic high value vegetable seedling transplantation drive at subdivision Kakpora, Pulwama.
Speaking on the occasion, the Director appreciated the efforts of concerned officers and officials and said that the department has been successful in bringing a new intervention of introduction of exotic vegetable seedlings and their availability to the farming community and this endeavor will continue till the set targets are achieved.
Director later visited oilseed growing areas of district Pulwama which has been brought under national mission on edible oils (Mustard). He said the department has brought new areas in all the districts of the valley under oilseed cultivation to enhance the oilseed production from the region.
Iqbal said yellow revolution has been achieved in the Kashmir division by the coordinated efforts of all the stakeholders and it has also been seen that there is an abrupt increase in the bee movement in the area which is a good sign for both agriculture as well as for the horticulture crops.
The Director was accompanied by Chief Agriculture Officer Pulwama, District Agriculture Officer Extension, District Agriculture Officer Inputs and other senior officers of the district.
