Baramulla, March 28: The District Development Commissioner (DDC) Baramulla, Bhupinder Kumar today paid a visit to Boniyar area of the district and took stock of the construction of Govt Degree College Boniyar besides taking first hand appraisal of various related aspects.
On the occasion, the DDC was informed that the college is being constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 1392.26 lacs and the work on several components has been completed. It was further informed that the completion date of ground floor and half right and left wing under Phase-I has been set as July 2022.
Meanwhile, Principal Degree College Boniyar Prof Tariq Hussain Bhat briefed the DDC that 250 students have so far been enrolled for which temporary arrangements have been made. He added that classrooms have been equipped with smart technological equipment which enable the students to get education via modern means and methods.
After taking a comprehensive review, the DDC emphasized upon the concerned authorities to strictly abide by the set timeline adding that any kind of laxity will not be tolerated. He directed to ramp up the pace of work and mobilize all the available resources so that work is completed well within the stipulated time frame.
The DDC during the visit was accompanied by Senior Superintendent of Police Baramulla, Rayees Mohammad Bhat and other officers and officials.
