Rajouri, March 25: To expedite the registration of the beneficiaries under SEHAT scheme, the District Administration Rajouri has started a seven day special registration/awareness campaign in Rajouri district from today.

Under this campaign, special awareness/registration camps are being organized in different parts of the district on the directions of the District Development Commissioner Rajouri, Vikas Kundal.

The main aim behind the SEHAT scheme is to extend health insurance coverage to all residents of Jammu and Kashmir and SEHAT stands for Social, Endeavour for Health and Telemedicine.

The special registration drives have been initiated in various Panchayats having maximum pendency so that all the eligible persons are covered under the scheme.

Arogya Mitras have been directed to share their IDs with the VLEs; and attend the camps personally to ensure maximum registration under the scheme.

The incharge panchayat officers along with the Block Medical Officers are also mobilizing the public and personally monitoring the registration activities. They are also recording the details of the absent families so that the same may be added on the next day.

An enthusiastic response was observed among the public on the first day, as thousands of people thronged the registration camps with due adherence to COVID protocols and got themselves registered under the scheme.

Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Vikas Kundal has passed necessary directions to all the concerned for mass mobilisation to ensure all left out populations are covered under the scheme so that they are entitled to the benefits of the scheme.

The spirited efforts of the District Administration to cover the eligible beneficiaries under the SEHAT scheme have received appreciation from the civil society.  The people also appealed to the administration to hold such campaigns on regular intervals to provide necessary benefits to them under different welfare initiatives of the Govt.
