Anantnag, March 22: The Chairman, District Development Council (DDC) Anantnag, M. Yousuf Gorsi along with the District members of Council of Anantnag, Chittergul and Shangus including BDCs, Sarpanches today held a healthy discussion on the plan formulation for next fiscal year.

The members of the council put their suggestions regarding PMAY Registration on the portal and CAPEX plan formulation before the chair for due consideration. The Sarpanches of the respective halqas highlighted their concerns and sought the intervention of the Administration in resolving the issues.

Speaking on the occasion the DDC Chairman said that holding of Gram Sabhas has been instrumental in projecting genuine public demands. He further said that in the coming months routine meetings will be held after every 15 days for better development of the respective blocks.

Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Anantnag, Bashir Ahmad Wani appreciated the cooperation of PRIs in implementing the framed works programme on ground.

He said that the works of community benefit should be prioritised and works related to public infrastructure development including renovation of existing Government assets like Panchayat ghars, schools, Patwar Khanas etc be included in the plans.

It is in place to mention that 4 panchayat conferences were held in Anantnag and all PRI stakeholders were briefed with regard to CAPEX plan formulation. It was impressed upon them that detailed plan discussions should be held in the Gram Sabhas and development plan formulated as per the local priorities for development.

The meeting was attended by the DDC members, BDCs, ADDC, ACP, ACD, Sarpanches and panches.
