Anantnag, March 22: In a bid to eradicate drug menace from the society, the District Administration Anantnag under the banner of District Social Welfare Office, Anantnag and Tehsil Social Welfare Office Shangus today organized an awareness camp cum moral excellence seminar under Nasha Mukht Bharat Abhiyan at GHSS Nowgam, here.
The main objective of the programme was to raise awareness among the masses regarding the ill effects of drugs to eradicate the menace from society.
SDPO Achabal was the Chief Guest on the occasion.
Many students on the occasion threw light on the topic and stressed to take necessary steps for its complete eradication from the society.
Rouf Ahmad Shah, Social Worker delivered an impressive lecture regarding ill effects of drug abuse and its mitigation
Others who spoke on the occasion include PRI members, religious leaders, representatives from Excise and Taxation, Health, ICDS, Education and Revenue departments besides students of various schools
Award certificates, medals and mementos were presented to the students who participated in the seminar.
Principal Girls Higher Secondary School Nowgam, BMO, TSWO and Naib Tehsildar Shangus, Nodal Officer Nasha Mukht Bharat Abhiyaan Ranjan, Excise Inspector, Social Workers of Social Welfare Department besides Anganwadi and Asha Workers, students of GHSS Nowgam, civil society members from the area and others participated in the event.
