Leh, March 11: Member of the National Commission for Minorities (NCM), Government of India, Rinchen Lhamo is on her maiden visit to the Nubra sub-division. On the second day of her visit, she held a meeting with the village representatives of Diskit block, religious heads and Head of Departments of Nubra sub-division.
During the meeting, NCM Member Rinchen Lhamo spoke about the numerous scholarships and welfare schemes of the GoI available to the minorities and appealed to avail the benefits of such schemes. She urged the village representatives to further spread awareness about the schemes to the public at the village level as well.a
The sarpanches, panches and nambardars of the villages of Diskit block shared their grievances and demands, such as early functioning of UDAN airports, connection with northern grid, filling of vacant posts at Sub-District Hospital, Diskit, up-gradation of the medical centre at Khardong village, etc.
NCM Member Rinchen Lhamo directed the Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Nubra to resolve the grievances of the village representatives. SDM Nubra assured to redress their grievances.
