Jammu, March 11: With a view to provide better civic amenities to the people of Jammu, Chander Mohan Gupta Mayor JMC along with Advocate Purnima Sharma Deputy Mayor JMC today inaugurated charging station for E- Rickshaws at Municipal yard near Dogra Chowk Jewel, Jammu
Sh. Hardeep Singh Mankotia Chairman Swacch Bharat Committee JMC, Sh. Amit Gupta Councillor of ward no. 19, Sh Pankaj Gupta Joint Commissioner (A), JMC , Sh Atul Gupta Secretary JMC, Dr, Sanjogita Soodan Health officer JMC ,Er. Firdos Ahmed Qazi Executive Engineer, Er. Neeraj Vaid Assistant Executive Engineer, Er. K.K Bali Junior Engineer and other supervisory staff of project division as well as other officials of different wings of JMC were also remained present there during the function.
Speaking on the occasion, Mayor told that in order to facilitate the people of Jammu city especially residing in the areas where Garbage collection vehicles cannot reach due to congested lanes, the JMC has launched Modern type of E. Rickshaws for collecting door to door garbage from these congested localities with proper segregation.
He further told that it is the first type of charging station in U.T of J&K which has been developed by JMC with an estimated cost of Rs. 22.76 Lakh only.
He added that this charging Station has the capacity of charging 34 numbers of E. Rickshaws which can be stationed here after the door to door garbage collection from the allotted wards.
Advocate Purnima Sharma Deputy Mayor also spoke on the occasion and told that all the Councilors in Collaboration with officers/officials of JMC are committed to provide best possible civil & development amenities to the citizens of each ward irrespective of any caste, creed or religion so that Jammu can be made really a Smart city and also appeal to the general public to come forward & cooperate with JMC & other allied agencies in all the development activities being undertaken in various parts of the city.
Besides this ,Mayor along with Sh. Raj Kumar Chairman Health & Sanitation Committee JMC, Madam Neena Gupta Councillor of ward No. 50 also conducted an extensive tour of Channi Himmat area, met with locals, listened to their issues regarding Sanitation ,installation/rectification of LED street lights, lifting of Stray dogs, construction leftover lanes/drains, Blacktopping of main /interior roads of ward no.50.
Mayor listened to their demands with great patience & assured that all their genuine issues will be redressed on priority basis.
Besides this, He also kick started the work of laying of Pavar tiles in the various lanes of sec No.1 Channi Himmat near Gurudwara of ward No. 50 with a alloted amount of Rs.21 Lakh only under Capex .
He told that it was the long pending demands of the locals which has been fulfilled today with the active efforts of the concerned councillor.
Madam Neena Gupta, councilor of ward no.50 while speaking on the occasion, also shared various development activities being undertaken in the ward.
