Anantnag, March 08: On International Women’s Day, a number of functions were held across the district with the main function held at Higher Secondary School Girls Ranibagh, Anantnag.

Highlighting the importance of women in the society, various speakers including students and the teaching faculty threw light on the various challenges women encounter and gave examples of women achievers who have overcome these hurdles.

The Principal of GGHSS Ranibagh deliberated on this year’s theme “Gender equality today for a sustainable tomorrow”, and said that the world is a changing place and women can compete with men in all walks.

The function was attended by various resource persons of the institute, students and other officials of the Education department.
