Kulgam, March 08: On International Women’s Day, Jammu and Kashmir Rural Livelihood Mission organised an impressive function at Mini Secretariat, here.
The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Dr. Bilal Mohi-ud- Din Bhat was the chief guest on the occasion.
The event was attended by more than 100 Self Help Group members, staff members of NRLM and the members who have emerged as role models in different spheres for future generations.
During the programme, the SHG members also highlighted their achievements and success stories. They stressed on the fact that how NRLM has brought positive change in their lives.
District manager NRLM Kulgam informed that more than 3000 Self help Groups with more than 25000 women beneficiaries are associated with NRLM at Kulgam.
On the occasion the DC highlighted the role and importance of women in our society and emphasized on women empowerment.

The International Women’s day was also celebrated at Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) Project Qazigund.
On the occasion an awareness cum training workshop for women progress was also held.
The day-long workshop was attended by a large number of progressive women, besides staff, women folk from all walks of life and other concerned people from Kulgam, D.H Pora, Yaripora and other adjoining areas.
CDPO Fareeda Akhtar put forth the achievements of the women in all fields of life like entrepreneurship. She added that education has made it possible that the women are working shoulder to shoulder with men and emancipation has been achieved.
