Ganderbal, March 08: On the eve of International Women Empowerment week, the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Ganderbal in collaboration with National Women Commission Ganderbal today celebrated ‘Women Empowerment’ under the directions of Secretary DLSA Ganderbal, Tabasum.
Speaking on the occasion, the Assistant Handloom Training Officer Ganderbal and Assistant Handicrafts Training Officer Ganderbal, highlighted the various schemes available for women in their respective departments and apprised participants about the ways and means to take benefits under these schemes.
Adv. ShaguftaNabi, Panel Lawyer DLSA Ganderbal said that the main objective of organizing this seminar is to make women in general aware of their entitlements under various enactments being provided to them. She said that the DLSA Ganderbal provides free legal aid to the women who face violence and discrimination in the society besides make them aware with regard to their rights and incentives being provided to them.
Station House Officer Lar, spoke on the occasion and said that the police department is available at every time for their support and assistance and said that it is the duty of every citizen to respect women.
Legal Assistant DLSA Ganderbal, Members of National Commission for Women also made participants aware about the role and functioning of DLSAs and Special Women Cell in Police Stations respectively.
The programme among others was attended by Block Programme Manager, JKRLM, Officials of District Legal Services Authority Ganderbal, Members of National Commission Women, Aganwadi Workers, Asha Workers, Women from J&K RLM and general public.
