Jammu Mar 08 :- Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Mahila Morcha celebrated international women’s day at party headquarter, Trikuta Nagar, Jammu.

The program was organized under leadership of BJP Mahila Morcha Sanjita Dogra who was also accompanied by Morcha General Secretaries Neha Mahajan and Urvashi Gupta. The event was graced with the presence of BJP Vice-President Anuradha Charak, General Secretaries Adv. Vibodh Gupta & Dr. Devinder Manyal, former Minister Priya Sethi, Secretary Veenu Khanna, Spokesperson Rajni Sethi, and Suresh Jamwal among others.

Anuradha Charak said the day should be celebrated by talking about the women who inspire them to be a better person. Women deserve respect, love, care and happiness. Their empowerment is a great responsibility that they need.

Adv. Vibodh Gupta said ‘the decade is pivotal for achieving gender equality to achieve a sustainable future. The day is a reminder of a gender equal world, a world that has no room for bias, stereotypes, differences and everyone is treated equally, celebrated and valued.

Dr. Devinder Manyal stated that celebrating women is a way of feeling gratitude to each and every woman in one’s life, be it in the professional or the personal life. The day is observed around the world to celebrate the importance of women and an equal future.

Priya Sethi said women build not only society for themselves but a whole community. Every day should be a day where we respect the divinity of women. We cannot deny that women contribute with zeal and ace in each field in their own way.

Veenu Khanna said women today have begun realizing their strength and abilities and are ready to step out of their homes, contributing to the success of their home and entire society.

Rajni Sethi said women today definitely live in a better world than the women belonging to history. Now, men are standing up as allies to work for the upliftment of women.

In the Presidential address, Sanjita Dogra said ‘it is a day to celebrate women’s achievements, raise awareness against bias, and take action for equality, to create a better gender neutral society. It’s a day when women across the globe are recognized and celebrated for playing various roles in the cultural, political and socio-economic section. This year the theme for international women’s day is ‘gender equality today for a sustainable tomorrow’, she said.

The vote of thanks was presented by National Mahila Morcha Executive member Updesh Andotra.
