Samba Police Organises Cyber Jaagrookta Diwas

Samba Mar 02 :-  District Police Samba has organized Cyber Jaagrookta (awareness) Diwas at various education institutions and at village level in District Samba as a part of its programme to generate awareness amongst public against cybercrime.

Samba Police under the supervision of SSP Samba, Dr.Abhishek Mahajan, IPS has taken an initiative to launch mass awareness programme in the district on cybercrimes and cyber hygiene. In most of the cases, cybercrimes are committed by the cyber criminals due to the lack of cyber awareness among users or by mistake and thus cyber awareness is a pivotal tool the people especially youth need to be equipped with, said SSP Samba.

In today’s cyber awareness drive, the officers of Samba Police visited various educational institutions viz Govt. Higher Secondary School Vijaypur/ Purmandal/ Ramgarh/ Smailpur, Govt. Girls Higher Secondary School Samba, village Rehian, Samba and delivered lectures on various types of cybercrimes and the modus operandi used by the cyber criminals to dupe the innocent people. The participants were advised to remain alert while doing any activity on the internet and not to share personal credentials/ Bank details/ OTP to any unknown person. Basic protocols of Cyber Hygiene were also highlighted during the Cyber Jaagrookta Diwas. The participants were made aware of basic preventive measures/ Safety tips to follow for safe internet usage.

The objective of Cyber Jaagrookta Diwas is to educate youngsters for Cyber safe environment and to increase Cyber Hygiene for prevention of cybercrimes, said SSP Samba.
