Kupwara, March 2: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Imam Din today chaired a Mega Block Diwas programme at Gulgam Qadirabad of Kupwara district.

DDC Member, Tahira; BDC Chairperson, Javaid Ahmad War, Officers from Civil administration and PRIs, besides, general public attended the day long Block Diwas programme.

On his arrival, the DC inspected different stalls installed by various departments including Agriculture department, Horticulture, Social Welfare, ICDS and Sheep husbandry department.

The DC in his address said that the aim of holding weekly block diwas is to hear the people at their door steps and address their developmental issues and grievances. He urged the people to participate in Gram Sabhas for proper planning and development of their villages and to ensure genuineness of the works being executed.

The DC assured the PRIs that their genuine developmental issues shall be resolved on priority.

Referring to grievances redressal, the DC said that the doors of his office are open and he is personally hearing the public grievances on every Monday and Thursday in a week.

Regarding the District CAPEX Budget, the DC said that the Government has increased the district budget 3 times this year to ensure massive development of Kupwara district.

He directed the officers to conduct regular field visits and ensure that all public grievances shall be redressed timely.

Earlier, PRIs and senior citizens projected various developmental issues of the area before the chair.

Officers also spoke and replied to the queries raised by the PRIs and public. They also gave awareness regarding developmental schemes of their respective departments.
