Ramban, February 26:   Department of Indian System of Medicine (ISM), AYUSH on Saturday organised an awareness cum yoga session for officers and officials to teach them yogic asanas for a healthy and stress free life..

Additional District Development Commissioner, Ramban, Rajinder Sharma presided over the session attended by ADC, Harbans Lal Sharma, ACR Dherinder Sharma and scores of other officers and officials.

The Programme was coordinated by the District YOGA Coordinator Dr. Masood Iqbal Zargar. He also gave a powerpoint presentation on the importance of Yoga in stress management.

Giving tips for stress management, Dr. Masood asked the participants to achieve triple H like Health, Harmony and Happiness for all” through Yoga.

He said that  the department is keen to develop human resources for planning, training, promotion and coordination of yoga education, Therapy and Research in all its aspects.

“The sudden change in lifestyle and increase in diseases and mental stress among people can be cured only through Yoga” he added.

Stressing the need for adopting yoga to keep body and mind fit, the ADDC said that yoga has revolutionized health management across the world by offering an opportunity to bring the mind in equilibrium with the body besides helping harness an individual’s inner strengths.

He said that yoga is universally acknowledged as the best treatment for all diseases, and if practiced regularly it eradicates mental stress and keeps the body, mind and intellect fit.

The ADC said that yoga’s incorporation of meditation and breathing can help improve the mental well-being of people.  .
