Kargil, February 26, 2022: Sub Divisional Magistrate Zanskar, Sonam Dorjay today convened a meeting of all Block Development Councils (BDC), Sarpanch, panchs and Lambardars of Zanskar to review the progress of Jal Jeevan Mission.
The meeting was attended by Block Development Officer, Tsewang Rigzin, AEE PWD Division Zanskar, PRI members and Lambardars of Padum.
SDM and BDO said that JJM will be monitored by the village-level water sanitation committee and for maintenance of the schemes as per the government guidelines.
The PRI members and Lambardars raised the problems regarding the non-involvement of PRI members, Lambardars during the preparation of projects and their execution.
They requested the SDM to extend the date for the block-level review meeting of JJM at every block headquarters.
They also requested to modify some projects as they are not feasible as per their villagers. The SDM assured to take up the matter with higher authorities.
