Jammu, February 25: Municipal Committee Ghou Manhasan has declared itself as ODF+ town after seeking public objections and feedback as per guidelines issued by Swachh Bharat Mission, Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs.
The objections and feedback were sought from the citizens of the Town within 15 days from the date of issuance of the notification.
Feedback and objections received during this period was taken under consideration and all necessary improvements are being made on the ground. Thus, Municipal Committee Gahu Manhasan declared itself as an ODF+ town. Henceforth, open defecation, open urination, and unauthorised dumping of sewage in open areas, drains and water bodies will be a punishable offence.
The MC is authorized to recover a penalty of 1NR 200 for open defecation, INR 100 for open urination and INR 500 for unauthorized dumping of sewage in open areas, drains and water bodies.
