Rajouri, February 25: Member of Parliament, Lok Sabha, Jammu- Poonch constituency, Jugal Kishore Sharma today reviewed the progress achieved under different centrally sponsored schemes in district Rajouri here at the District Development Coordination & Monitoring Committee (DISHA) meeting held in the Conference Hall of PWD Dak Bungalow.

The MP also e- inaugurated 97.48 KM newly constructed road and bridge projects completed at a cost of Rs 60. 40 crore.

Among the others, DDC Chairman, Chowdhury Naseem Liyaqat; Vice Chairman DDC, Shabir Khan; BDC chairpersons, DDC members, Chairpersons of MCs  besides , Deputy Commissioner Vikas Kundal; SSP, Mohd Aslam; ADDC, Pawan Kumar and district heads of line departments attended the meeting.

The MP reviewed the implementation of flagship development schemes  MGNREGA, 14th Finance Commission, PMGSY, NSAP, SSA, PMDP-U, PMDP-R, IPDS, housing for all, PMAY-U, JJM, NABARD, CRF, IWMP and other centrally sponsored schemes was held threadbare in the meeting.

The meeting was told that against 6 Central Road fund schemes,  2 have been completed, while the work on 04 projects  is in progress, while  out of 52  NABARD projects 13 are complete in all respects.

The District has completed 161 PMGSY projects and work on 34 schemes is in progress. Similarly against the target of 30641 PMAY houses, the work on 13042 is complete, while 42002 new beneficiaries have also been identified under Awas plus” the meeting was told.

The district has achieved full target under Swachh Bharat Mission by constructing 98679 IHHL units in the district and Rajouri has been declared as ODF free district, the meeting was informed. It was also informed that 230 community sanitary complexes have been constructed. Under Back to village 3, as many as 929 works were identified while the work on 242 is complete in all respects.

Taking stock of the progress made under Integrated Water Management Program (IWMP), the MP was informed that out of 383 works, 176 are complete, while 217 are under different phases of execution.

About the progress under JKNRLM, the meeting was told that 2698 self help groups have been constituted till date while 19264 women have been enrolled in SHGs.

Taking stock of the COVID containment and mitigation efforts, the meeting was informed that the vaccination for above 45 age group and 18-45 years is complete for the first and second dose while the covid inoculation for 15-17 years is complete for the first dose while the progress on vaccination drive for second dose for this age bracket is 71 percent.

Reviewing the availability of medical oxygen supply, the concerned officer informed that there is sufficient availability of medical oxygen supply in the health Institutions. He also took stock of the progress concerning the testing of the persons for COVID19 wherein he was apprised that District Administration has intensified testing in the district for the timely identification of the positive cases.

DDC also reviewed the progress made under centrally sponsored schemes of the PDD sector including IPDS, DDUY, PMDP-U, PMDP-R and RAPDRP left over works wherein he was informed that out of 18 schemes, the work on 10 schemes is complete.

Talking about Jal Jeevan Mission, the concerned officer briefed 293 schemes at an estimated cost of Rs 1550.52 have been approved and tenders for 292 schemes have been floated out of which technical and financial bids of 35 schemes are under process of evaluation.

Regarding the pension schemes of the social welfare department, the meeting was informed that 48017 are availing benefits under ISSS in different categories including OAP, Widow/Div and PCB. Under NSAP, there are 11971 beneficiaries. Giving details of the SMAS, it was informed that 1693 beneficiaries have been covered under the scheme so far.

The public and their representatives also apprised the MP about scores of issues and demands of their areas including inclusion of left out beneficiaries under PMAY-G, shortage of staff in health institutions, ambulances, work on GMC Rajouri to be completed at the earliest, shortage of electricity poles etc.

Some more issues included exaggerated electricity bills, dilapidated condition of roads, implementation of Jal Jeevan Mission, repair and renovation of old hand pumps, construction of more chowks in the town to avoid traffic congestion, release of funds for the completion of Abdullah bridge, construction of Koteranka- Khawas road and other related issues.

Addressing the meeting, the MP asked the Administration unit and Council to work with verve and cohesion to take the district to new heights of prosperity and development and make sure that the benefits of the development reaches to the last beneficiary of the district.

Throwing light on the role of SHGs in strengthening the socioeconomic condition of the people in rural areas, he also asked the concerned officer to generate mass awareness among the public about the role of SHGs and ensure maximum coverage of the women under the scheme to make them self-reliant.

Stressing upon the officers to work with dedication and in a mission mode, he asked them to ensure the time-bound completion of work on the developmental projects and maintain the quality while working on developmental projects.

Underlining the role of the PRIs in the overall development of their areas, the MP also urged the public representatives to ensure the regular monitoring of all the developmental activities being carried out in the areas of their respective jurisdictions and make the best possible efforts to take their areas to new heights of development.

He also asked them to ensure the better implementation of the centrally sponsored schemes on ground and ensure that no eligible beneficiary is left out from availing the benefits of these schemes.

Enumerating the measures being taken to strengthen the agriculture and allied sectors in the district, the MP asked the concerned officers to take effective measures to boost the agricultural production through innovative interventions to raise the socioeconomic status of the farmers.
