Jammu, Feb 24:- Continuing his endeavour to provide best possible & more development & civic amenities to the citizens of Jammu, Chander Mohan Gupta Mayor alongwith Advocate Purnima Sharma Deputy Mayor JMC, Madam Gurmeet Kour Randhawa Councilor of ward no.69 today kick started the construction work a community Hall within the premises of Shiv mandir in Sainik colony area of ward no.69.
Sh Narinder Singh Jamwal Ex-Chairperson of Public Health and Sanitation committee also councilor of ward no.70 Sainik colony, Sh Karan Singh Ji president alongwith other representatives of Shiv mandir Sainik Colony development committee, prominent inhabitants of the area as well as engineers & other supervisory staff of works division -IV JMC & Concerned Contractor were also remained present there.
Speaking on the occasion, Mayor told that it was the long pending demands of the locals as well as Mandir committee and with the sincere efforts of the councilor of this ward, this much awaited work has been started today with an allotted amount of Rs 25.00 lacs only.
He directed the concerned works division to get the construction work of the community completed well before 31st of March 2022 by applying best quality construction material and executing the work in double shift so that the remaining work may be taken up in the next capex and the people of sainik colony and its adjoining localities can be benefitted.
Besides this, Mayor alongwith Deputy Mayor, JMC also conducted an extensive tour of ward no. 73 and also kick started the construction work of Boundary wall at municipal land situated at Chatha near Airport Jammu.
Addressing to media persons, Mayor said that with sincere efforts of Revenue Section of JMC under the supervision of Commissioner, the demarcation of about 58 Kanals of Municipal land has already been done and the fencing work with wires has been undertaken and inorder to protect this vital municipal land from any type of illegal encroachment, this much needed construction work of boundary wall has been started today by the project Division of JMC with an estimate cost of Rs. 70 lacs.
He further told that JMC has planned to construct flats and other commercial establishments here after the work of boundary wall is completed. Er. Firdous Ahmed Qazi Executive Engineer, Mr. Amit Sharma Assistant Executive Engineer alongwith other supervisory staff of project Division JMC, Sh. Baj Singh Naib Tehsildar (R) JMC and other concerned field staff of JMC were also accompanied the Mayor during the occasion.
