Implementation of District Environment Conservation Plan reviewed at Doda

Doda, February 24: Additional Deputy Commissioner Doda, Dr R K Bharti today reviewed the implementation of the District Environment Conservation Plan here at a meeting of stakeholder departments and members of the District Environment Conservation Committee. The ADC took the appraisal of the decisions taken in the last monthly meeting.

With regard to disposal of bio medical waste,  the Medical Superintendent  Associated Hospital  Government Medical College informed that the mechanism for the same was in place. He informed that the waste is collected with proper bar coding.

It was further informed that the issue of commissioning of the Solid Waste Treatment plant  has been taken up with the concerned authorities.

The ADC directed CMO to ensure quality disposal of Bio medical waste in all the health institutions across without any fail.

In addition to this, he directed the Divisional Officer PCC to give a presentation to the concerned health and rural development authorities regarding Bio medical waste management so that they shall implement the same in their respective areas.

District Mining Officer also informed that all the leases and sand mining blocks are working as per the terms and conditions, and the department is regularly monitoring their functioning.

With regard to enforcement of single use plastic ban, the ADC directed the Divisional Officer PCC and all EOs to conduct extensive drives and  take appropriate action against the violators. He further directed the DMO to ensure that all vehicles carrying minor minerals are covered from the top on priority basis.
