Jammu, February 23, 2022: Apni Party Youth Wing State General Secretary Abhay Bakaya today urged the authorities to initiate repair work of the roads in commercially important Transport Nagar near Narwal.
In a statement to the press, he said that the roads in Transport Nagar are in adverse condition and there is a need to look into the urgent public issue which has affected the business activities in the above said area.
“It’s a commercial place where trucks, and other commercial vehicles come from the rest of the country but the infrastructure is so poor that even a small vehicle faces hardships to drive a car,” he said.
In these circumstances, he said, it becomes imperative to repair/construct smooth roads.
Expressing concern over the decline in the business activities of the shopkeepers in Transport Nagar, he questioned the concerned authorities for their inaction over the developmental activities.
“The funds usually come for the repair work or construction of roads but they are not spent on priority but according to the will of a political party by ignoring the prime commercial area,” he said.
He said that the situation in Transport Nagar is in shambles which needs an improvement and revamp of the infrastructure with a serious approach for its overall development.
“The authorities must look into the concerns of the business community in Transport Nagar,” he said while seeking release of funds specifically for the repair work/construction of roads in Transport Nagar.
