Kargil, February 23, 2022: Acting Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor (CEC), LAHDC, Kargil, Aga Syed Abass Rizvi today attended a two-day Level 2 Residential Training Programme under National Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) at Conference Hall, Baroo.
The training is conducted by the All India Institute of Local Self-Government (AIILSG) titled participatory planning, implementation, and operation and maintenance of rural drinking water supply project under JJM.
The acting CEC was present as the chief guest. AIILSG Trainer, Dr Bhagti Devi was present as a resource person, Team Leader JJM, AIILSG, Mayang Meena, AEEs, and JEs from both Leh and Kargil districts attended the session.
Speaking on the occasion, Razvi thanked the institute for providing training for the JJM engineers in far-flung areas in the Ladakh region.
He instructed the concerned department to take benefit from the trainers and provide the best and quality water facility to the general public. Razvi further urged to look for a model to ensure water facilities in cold areas like Drass and Zanskar.
Besides technical operational challenges, public participation, local challenges, and public dealing, the session is primarily focusing on pipeline freezing challenges in the winter season in cold areas in Ladakh.
