Jammu, February 18: Commissioner Secretary, Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Mandeep Kaur, today directed the officers to complete the process of registration of all households of PMAY(G) beneficiaries on Awas Plus on war footing.

The Commissioner Secretary issued these instructions while addressing a review meeting held with all Assistant Commissioners Development (ACD) of Jammu and Kashmir through video conference.

Expressing dismay over slow pace of registration process in some districts, Commissioner Secretary asked the officers to complete the task by coming Sunday without any fail so that the first installment of new target could be released to all the eligible beneficiaries by Monday. She also directed the concerned ACDs to achieve the set target by deputing the field staff round the clock besides ensuring that no ineligible beneficiary is registered on the portal.

She also exhorted upon Directors of Rural Development Department (RDD) Jammu and Kashmir to closely monitor the registration process on daily basis to ensure that all the beneficiaries are registered within the stipulated time period besides ensuring that only the eligible beneficiaries are registered. Commissioner Secretary added that all the parameters such as job card mapping, Adhaar seeding, physical verification, Gram Sabha approval and other matters are dealt within the set time frame.

Furthermore, while responding to the issues on left out beneficiaries raised by the concerned officers during the meeting, Mandeep Kaur stated that all these matters have already been taken up with the Government of India and will be resolved soon.

Pertinent to mention, under PMAY (G) each beneficiary gets Rs. 1.30 lakh to build a house in addition to 95 days of wage employment under MGNREGA to construct a house and Rs. 12000 under SBM (G) for construction of a toilet unit. Besides, the houses of beneficiaries have also been sanctioned piped water facility, electricity supply and LPG connection in convergence with other schemes. The beneficiaries of the rural housing scheme have been selected according to data taken from the socio-economic and caste census (SECC) data, 2011.
