Reasi Feb 16 :- The migratory Gujjar and Bakarwal community of Jammu and Kashmir continue to remain backward and deprived of basic amenities owing to the remoteness of the areas they reside in and transit through. Indian Army has periodically been interacting with this community to understand their grievances and render assistance in terms of health, education etc.
Towards this end, a meeting was conducted at Marhot, Reasi for the benefit of the local Gujjar and Bakarwal population. The occasion was used to educate the gathering about the various Government schemes and policies like Scholarships for Children, Bank Loan Scheme, Sukanya Samridhi Yojana, Area Development Scheme etc.
The problems being faced by them were also noted for taking up with the concerned authorities. The Sarpanch and other attendees conveyed their gratitude to the Indian Army for the support and help extended to the community, whenever the need for the same arose.
