leh, feb 08: A delegation led by Executive Councillor, Health/Agriculture, LAHDC Kargil, Mohsin Ali, today called upon the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, RK Mathur, at Raj Niwas.
EC Mohsin Ali apprised LG Mathur of various issues related to health, wildlife, agriculture, forest in Kargil and his constituency, Chiktan. He briefed LG Mathur about the need for approval for the 300-bedded hospital at Kargil and the requirement of medical staff at District Hospital, CHCs and PHCs in Kargil.
Briefing about wildlife, EC Mohsin Ali requested LG Mathur for compensation to families affected by the damage to their livestock by snow leopard and brown bear, funds for carrying out brown bear mitigation plan and deputation of Forest Protection Force employees.
He also requested LG Mathur for establishing a National Research Center and Gamma Radiation Centre on apricot at Kargil, funds for Project Juniper and deputation of Assistant Director, Handicrafts Department.
The delegation comprising Panch and Sarpanch of Kukshow village requested LG Mathur for the repair of the existing VSAT and mobile towers for connectivity, lift water scheme for Kukshow and Hagnis to irrigate the fields and renovation of Chiktan Razi Khar.
Speaking to the delegation, LG Mathur stated that Administration would provide compensation to the families affected by damage to their livestock. He further stated that Administration has initiated steps to tackle codling moth for the preservation of apricot. LG Mathur also stated about the Administration’s plans to plant juniper saplings in both Leh and Kargil.
