DDC Kulgam reviews power scenario in district

Kulgam, February 07: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Dr. Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat today convened a meeting of officers to review overall power scenario and the status of ongoing developmental works being carried out by the department in the district.

During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner inquired about the availability, demand and position of power supply in the district and also took a comprehensive review of the work on other vital projects spearheaded by the various wings of PDD under various schemes.

He also reviewed work done carried out under IPDS, PMDP, DDUGJY and other schemes.

The DDC directed the concerned to ensure completion of works meant for augmenting power supply in the district within the given time including up-gradation works of receiving stations.

The Deputy Commissioner also reviewed the functioning of the Divisional transformer repairing workshop, availability of buffer stock of transformers and status of damaged transformers in the district.

While reviewing the repairing capacity of the Divisional transformer repairing workshop, the DC impressed upon the concerned for timely repair and replacement of transformers.

The DC directed the concerned to strictly adhere to the curtailment schedule and instructed them to provide power supply as per schedule to all areas and to avoid unnecessary cuts in power supply.

During the meeting it was also given out that frequent inspections are being carried out to check use of crude heating devices that lead to frequent load shedding and damage to transformers.

The meeting was attended by ADC, CPO, EXEN (KPDCL), Kulgam, along with AEE, AEs, and other officers from various wings of KPDCL.
