STO Jammu conducts extensive drive to identify new TB cases under “Har Ghar Dastak” campaign

Jammu, January 05: State Tuberculosis Office (STO) Jammu today conducted an extensive drive to identify new TB cases under the “Har Ghar Dastak” campaign.

The National Tuberculosis Elimination Programme was launched in J&K UT on December 6, 2021 to detect and identify the missing Tuberculosis cases.

In the Jammu division, 339 health teams have been constituted under the supervision of the State Tuberculosis Officer for carrying out extensive drives under this campaign.

With the effort of the teams so constituted, over 20 lakh (20,07,052) population was screened and 10,860 samples collected from presumptive symptomatic patients till 4th January 2022. Out of the total samples collected, 43 were found to be positive for Tuberculosis and initiated on Anti Tuberculosis treatment.
