World Braille Day observed across Kathua Schools

Kathua, January 04: World Braille Day was observed across Kathua Schools by paying homage to the developer of “Braille Script”, a boon for a person with vision impairment.

World Braille Day is celebrated on the 4th of Jan every year.

The ‘Braille Day’ was organized in the majority of schools in the district by organizing symposiums, debates, speeches & declarations. Teachers acquainted the students with the day and its importance.

Chief Education Officer Prakash Lal Thappa  applauded the efforts put in by the students, teaching fraternity, nodal officers and other officers for making the program successful.

He added that “Braille script is the prominent medium of expression and education and has proved inspirational for specially abled kids”. Such activities occupy an important place in New Education Policy – 2020.

He strictly directed to follow Covid appropriate behavior while organizing such activities for the safety of all.

Students were given motivational speeches and were rewarded. They were also encouraged for participation in future activities.
