Ramban, January 04: Deputy Commissioner Ramban Mussarat Islam today released Rs.20, 63,500 as ‘Lower and Higher Education Assistance’ in favour of 299 beneficiaries registered with Jammu and Kashmir Building and other Construction Workers Welfare Board.
The amount has been handed over to Manager J&K Bank Ramban by the DC Ramban to transfer the same in bank accounts of beneficiaries through DBT.
Speaking on the occasion, the DC said that the Labour Department has implemented various welfare schemes which have been launched by the Government to provide financial assistance to registered construction workers for the education of their children and welfare of their families.
As per Assistant Labour Commissioner, Angrez Singh, an amount of Rs 19, 33, 500 as Lower Education Assistance to 296 beneficiaries and Rs. 130000 as Higher Education Assistance to three beneficiaries has been transferred directly into the beneficiaries’ bank accounts.
He advised the labour card holders to get their card renewed well in time to take benefits from beneficiary oriented schemes of the department.
