Jammu, December 30: The ten day -Awareness and Cleanliness Camp organised under “Clean India Campaign ‘ by NSS Units of Padma Shri Padma Sachdev Govt. PG College for Women Gandhi Nagar concluded today.
A total of 30 NSS volunteers participated in different activities conducted under the supervision of NSS Programme Officers- Prof. Mala Bhasin and Dr Monika Hans. The Camp started with the Cleanliness drive on Dec 21, 2021 in the College premises wherein volunteers cleaned the campus and collected the waste in paper/cloth bags and disseminated the message of saving the environment by reducing the plastic use in our daily routine. On second and third day, the activity-Cleanliness of River Tawi at two sites- Vikram Chowk and Bhagwati Nagar near fourth Bridge was conducted. The volunteers cleaned the river banks by removing the polythene, cloth pieces and garbage with full zeal and enthusiasm.
On day fourth, a Slogan Writing activity on the topic – ‘Save Rivers’ was organised in the NSS Garden of the College premises followed by the activities of -Online quiz on- ‘Rivers of India’, Paragraph Writing on- ‘Importance of Water Conservation’ and Webinar on- ‘Energy Conservation’ and ‘Safety of Rivers” for the volunteers.
Awareness and Cleanliness drive was also conducted at Village- ChakJaral and Palli morh on 28th and 29th of December 2021, where the volunteers cleaned the water bodies. They also make the villagers aware about the Cleanliness and Preservation of water bodies (Talabs and wells).
Dr. Sangita Nagari Principal of the College congratulated NSS volunteers for their commendable work during the camp and also acknowledged the efforts of NSSPO’S.
The Awareness and Cleanliness Camp concluded with the pledge taking ceremony on -Cleanliness and Preservation of Water Resources by Principal, NSS volunteers and NSS Programme Officers.
