Shopian, December 28: On receiving a number of complaints from the locals, the District Mineral Officer, Shopian and his team along with a team of Revenue and Police conducted nocturnal raids in the intervening night of 27 December here today.
The team conducted raids in Chitragam, Nallah Reban to check operations of illegal mining in the district and lodged FIR against one violator Adil Ganaie S/O Wahid Ganaie R/O Chitragam, bearing JCB Registration No. HAR 3DXSSCO 2815243.
The concerned departments are on day and night vigil to curb the incidents of mining and reiterated the zero tolerance policy of the district.
Administration is taking various steps against illegal mining and asked the concerned to act tough against the violators.
