Samba, December 22: To spread mass awareness about hazards of Drug abuse, the District Administration Samba in collaboration with the Social Welfare Department organised a students’ rally, here today.
Deputy Commissioner Anuradha Gupta, while flagging off the rally of Students, said that Administration has taken multiple initiatives for creating awareness as well as counselling on Drug abuse. The DC said various IEC activities are being carried out across the district for creating awareness on Drug Demand Reduction.
“Feedback boxes are to be installed across the schools and colleges for identifying the Drug addict youth and later their counselling, recovery and rehabilitation shall be ensured” added DC Samba on new initiatives under the Drug Abuse campaign. The Feedback boxes mechanism will provide inputs on Drug abused persons without revealing identity and later the mechanism shall be replicated in Panchayat Ghars also.
In the Rally, around 100 students from Higher Secondary School (BOYS) Samba) participated along with other staff and officials of the social welfare department.
District Social Welfare Officer Deep Kumar; District Information Officer Ajay Sharma; AD FCS&CA besides others were also present on the occasion.
