Kupwara, December 18: A meeting of officers was held here today convened to review the progress achieved under RURBAN Cluster Model Village, Khumriyal in district Kupwara.

The meeting held threadbare discussion and took many decisions to further accelerate the developmental tempo in the cluster Village.

The Director RDD asked all concerned officers to play a pro active role and ensure that all approved development works are completed within the stipulated time frame. He directed them to provide a weekly based feedback report regarding progress achieved during the week.

The Director took a detailed review of each sector and asked the officers that the Cluster village needs to look different from other villages by way of its overall development. He directed them to work speedily on construction of Rest House, Tourist View Points, Installation of street lights, further improvement in sanitation, besides, other works including construction of link roads, lanes and by lanes etc.

Earlier the Director was briefed regarding the progress achieved in the Cluster village and was informed that as many as 272 different development works have been approved under the Cluster Village Development project. Out of which 175 have been taken up in hand for execution; of them 135 works have been completed so far. While work is in progress on other 40 developmental works.

The meeting was also informed that 108 works have been geo tagged.

Deputy Commissioner Kupwara also spoke on the occasion and stressed officers to work in coordination so that the targets are achieved well in time and the people of the village Khumriyal and Shumriyal get benefits under the RURBAN Mission.

Among others, JD Planning, Assistant Commissioner Development, Chief Medical Officer, District Agriculture Officer, District Information Officer Kupwara, Executive Engineers and other concerned attended the meeting.
