Bandipora, December 18: Nodal Officer Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY) Mr Mehraj Wani on Saturday chaired a meeting to review the implementation of the Government’s flagship SEHAT scheme in Bandipora district.

Assistant Commissioner Panchayat Altaf Hussain Mosvi, Assistant Labour Commissioner, District Programme Manager NHM Mr Mohammad Saleem, managers of CSCs and other senior officers of the district also attended the meeting.

The meeting was informed that more than 50 CSCs are functional across the district wherein people register themselves for availing benefits under the scheme and that so far 1.78 lac beneficiaries of 44040 families have been registered and subsequently verified also.

It was given out that 3.63 lac beneficiaries are to be registered out of which about 50 percent target has been achieved.

On the occasion Mehraj Wani called for increasing the rate of registrations per day. He urged CSCs to expedite the process and hold special registration sessions at 52 CSCs centers besides holding special camps at Panchayat and block level.

Wani sought the support of Assistant Commissioner Panchayat  in mobilizing people at Panchayat level  by Involving Panchayat Raj Institutions besides urging Assistant Labour Commissioner to ensure all the labor registered with the department are enrolled in Sehat Scheme.

He also directed to launch a mass awareness campaign to create awareness among people for cent percent coverage under the scheme.

The flagship scheme which stands for Social, Endeavour for Health and Telemedicine provides a health-cover of 5 lakh rupees per family per year. It allows portability of benefits across the country, has no cap on family size and involves free and cashless treatment in empanelled hospitals located across the country.

Any citizen can apply for the scheme which is linked to more than 23,000 public and private hospitals across India apart from those in J&K

On the occasion Wani also directed CSCs to fix day wise targets for each center to ensure speedy registration and asked them to report daily about the registrations.
