Udhampur, December 14:  Department of Information & Public Relations Udhampur today  organised a photo exhibition cum Seminar  on the theme” Indian constitution” here at Government Degree College Ramnagar.

Principal of the host College, Dr Udhey Bhanu was the chief guest while District Information Officer, Rajinder Kumar Digra presided over the programme.

Addressing the participants, the Chief Guest highlighted the great contribution of Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar towards Nation building. “He drafted the constitution of India and was the first law minister of independent India” the Principal said. He advised the participants to follow the path of social equality propagated by Baba Saheb. He thanked the Department of Information and Public Relations for organising  the seminar in the College.

The students of the host College participated in the seminar and presented their views about the philosophy, achievements and contribution of Dr. Baba Sahab Ambedkar.

District Information Officer Udhampur also spoke on the occasion and said that there was a need to conserve and preserve constitutional rights for the betterment of the society at large and underprivileged sections of the society in particular.

he DIO  also threw light on the life history of  Swami Vivekananda, Rabindra Nath Tagore, APJ Abdul Kalam and their role in nation building. He called upon the participants to emulate and follow the paths of these great minds.

The proceedings of the  programme were conducted by Prof. Suresh Kumar Dogra.

Later, the chief guest distributed certificates among the participants on the occasion.

Among others, Officials of the Information Department besides staff members and students of the College were present on the occasion.
