Bandipora, December 13: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Dr Owais Ahmad on Monday reviewed the progress of works proposed under District Capex Budget (DCB) 2021-22.

Meeting reviewed the tendering, allotment and status of all works including DDC / BDC /PRI grants. The meeting also discussed detailed proposals under the District Capex Plan, 2021-22 including physical status of projects targeted for completion in the current fiscal and took a comprehensive review on the progress of developmental projects undertaken by various departments.

It was revealed that 1175 works have so far been completed in the district in various sectors including 953 MGNREGA works, 9 PMAY (G) works, 14 DDC Grants, 10 BDC works and six PMGSY works. Officers informed that 45 percent of the total budget has been spent in developmental works so far including regular schemes, loan, state share for loan, central share and state share of centrally sponsored schemes.

Meeting was informed that there were delays in RDD works owing to tendering issues that are being resolved at a higher level. Deputy Commissioner took a strong note of delay in execution of several works despite allotments and other official formalities. The Deputy Commissioner directed to blacklist seven contractors who were found delaying execution of works time and again thus affecting the smooth functioning of the government.

DC Bandipora said  no unnecessary delay  will be accepted and warned of strict action against officials or officers responsible for delays  in execution of works.

Officers informed that Rs 529 Crores have been earmarked for the financial year 2021-22 with major thrust on Jal Jeevan Mission (51%), PMGSY (21%), Rural development Department (8%), Education & Health (8%) etc. DC Bandipora said 3316 works have been targeted for completion for the financial year 2021-22 which includes 114 Water supply schemes, 24 PMGSY works, 23 Urban Development Works, 13 works of Education, 07 Hospitals, 13 Roads, 09 Irrigation Schemes and 1875 MGNREGA Works.

The DC sought details from the heads of departments including Rural Development department, Health, JKPDCL, R&B, Jal Shakti and other sectors about the approved works, tendering status, status of estimations and progress of ongoing projects/works.

Speaking on the occasion, the DC said that district administration is committed to ensure all development projects/works are completed within a set timeline. He stressed on the concerned officers/officials to take all possible measures to accelerate the pace of the ongoing works for their time-bound completion and directed for regular monitoring of works.

Additional District Development Commissioner Ali Afsar Khan, Joint director Planning Imtiyaz Ahmad, Assistant Commissioner Development Ab Rashid Dass, Assistant Commissioner Panchayats, Executive Engineer REW, Chief Education Officers, Chief Medical Officer, Executive Engineer R&B Bandipora and Sumbal besides other senior officers of all the departments were present on the occasion.
