Poonch, December 10: Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Inder Jeet chaired a meeting of National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM) department to review its performance ahead of the visit of VVIP to the border district.
The meeting was attended by District Programme Manager, NRLM, Mohammad Owais Karni, Block Programme Managers and other concerned officers.
The Deputy Commissioner asked the concerned to make preparations for installation of stalls to demonstrate the products manufactured by the NRLM Self Help Groups and finalization of Digipays registration. He directed the DPM to complete other departmental works in advance so that the purpose of the visit of the VVIP is served.
The DPM informed that the registration of Self Help Groups is going on in the Panchayats of Mandi, Surankote and Bufliaz and the process is about to start in the Panchayats of Poonch, Mendhar, and Balakote Blocks.
The Deputy Commissioner further directed the other departments extending benefits to Self Help Groups to remain available to aware the public about the benefits of the schemes.
The Deputy Commissioner asked the concerned officers to go door to door and make people aware about Self Help Group schemes and register a maximum number of people for the same. He also stressed on early completion of the registration of Digipays so that AEPS devices are also launched at the time of the visit of the VVIP.
