Srinagar, December 9: Advisor to Lieutenant Governor, Farooq Khan, today conveyed accolades to defending Champions Real Kashmir FC for qualifying to semi-finals of the 124th IFA Shield Football Tournament in Kalyani stadium, Kolkata here on Wednesday.
The Real Kashmir FC defeated local heavyweights Mohammedan Sporting by 1-0 goals in quarter final match of the ongoing IFA Shield Tournament at Kolkata.
Congratulating the team and management of the club, Advisor expressed hope that the club will return with flying colours after winning the Shield. He said that the Real Kashmir since its inception, through sheer perseverance and consistent performance coupled with huge thrust by the government on sport infrastructure in last few years, is helping in developing a vibrant sports culture in the Union Territory.
He said such performances will certainly redefine the ‘Real’ Kashmir through the lens of sports and become a proponent of changing lives in Kashmir through football and other sporting feats, added the Advisor.
