Budgam, December 04: Continuing the public outreach initiative programme, the District Development Commissioner (DDC) Budgam, Shahbaz Ahmad Mirza today held a Public Darbar at village Rakhwachoo, Block Sukhnag.
The daylong darbar apart from locals was also attended by many individuals and deputations of adjacent villages.
During the programme, the DDC patiently took note of the issues and demands put forth by the locals individually as well through deputations.
The demands were mostly based on routine requirements consisting improvement in water supply, merger of panchayat halqa Rakhwachoo with Tehsil Beerwah, construction of road from Rakhwachoo to Tosamaidan, widening and macadamisation of roads from Zabigola to Arizal besides others.
Responding to the issues, the DC said special focus will be envisaged to develop the area. Regarding the issues raised in the public outreach program, the DDC assured audiences that a fast track redressal process will be initiated to redress the genuine grievances at an earliest.
While emphasizing cleanliness, the DDC instructed PRI and RDD workers to launch sanitation drives on a regular basis to keep the area clean. He also said that there should be scientific disposal of waste with non usage of polythene bags.
The DDC also stressed upon a massive awareness campaign by all concerned line departments in Sukhnag Block about the schemes and benefits available for public welfare, in this regard the Horticulture Department in the district shall hold an awareness camp within the next 3 days in the area.
Taking strong note of dereliction of duties and non availability of medical staff in some hospitals and PHCs, the DDC instructed for setting up a Committee comprising of ADDC and all SDMs to visit and audit Manpower of all Medical institutions in the district.
The DDC also instructed ARTO Budgam to look into the matter of over-charging of fares by some Sumo Transporters in the area.
Mirza stressed upon exploration of self employment initiatives and urged unemployed youth to avail benefits being provided by line departments in the district. In this connection, the DDC instructed BDO Sukhnag to handhold youth for their socio-economic upliftment.
Responding to demand of potable water supply, the DDC assured the gathering that the filtration plant in the area shall be made functional within 04 days.
The officers who accompanied DDC included SDM Khansahab, CMO, CAO, ARTO, Ex. Engineer Jal Shakti, BDO Sukhnag and other concerned officers.
