Awareness programme on schemes of mission youth held at ganderbal

Ganderbal, december 04: The District Employment and Counseling Centre (DE&CC) Ganderbal today organized a daylong awareness programme on schemes of Mission Youth operated by various departments for the unemployed youth of the district at Conference Hall of Mini-Secretariat, here.

At the outset, unemployed youth were sensitized about different self-employment schemes including schemes of Mission Youth meant for the empowerment of the youth, so that they are able to generate livelihood for themselves and others.

During the program, the AD Employment, sensitized the participants through a power point presentation about various schemes of Mission youth which includes, Mumkin, Tejaswani, Rise Together, Tourist Village network, SAYTHA-Youth in Distress, AVSAR, Skill Development Initiatives, Youth Clubs, Psycho-Social Support, Young Innovators Programs for holistic and pragmatic youth engagement and empowerment on sustainable lines.

Briefing the participants, the OSD for Mission Youth informed that these schemes are launched with an objective to positively engage youth of J&K through multi-pronged strategy involving all necessary systematic interventions for their inclusive development which includes provision of Livelihood Generation, Skill Development, Education, Counseling and Rehabilitation, Sports and Recreation.

He also apprised the participants about eligibility criteria, selection process, funding pattern etc under each scheme.

On the occasion, the Additional District Development Commissioner Ganderbal, Peer Muzafar Ahmad stressed the concerned departments to educate the unemployed youth about the self-employment generation schemes and exhorted them to motivate maximum number of youth as there is huge untapped potential in these schemes.

All the participants were further appealed to disseminate the awareness about the schemes of Mission Youth among the masses so that benefits of these schemes percolate down to all the eligible ones.

Officer on Special duty for Mission Youth, Murtaza Rashid, CPO, Irfan Giri, ACD, AD Employment, CEO, GM, DIC Ganderbal, ZEOs and other district and sectoral officers attended the said program.
