Ramban, December 04: As many as 791 new admissions have been recorded by the education department during its ongoing community mobilization cum enrollment drive conducted in zone Banihal.
In continuation of the drive, the Education Department today organised a program at Doligam area of Banihal education zone.
The program was conducted by Zonal Education Officer (ZEO) Banihal, AR Giri, Zonal Education Planning Officer, Reyaz Ahmed Wani and Head master Shoket Ahmed Lone.
The speakers urged the parents and locals present to admit their wards in government schools and take the benefits of schemes being provided by the government to the students.
While highlighting the schemes, the ZEO said that the government is providing free textbooks, MDM, free uniform, scholarship to all the eligible students. “Many more schemes have been launched to provide quality and affordable education to each and every child” he added.
Meanwhile, Local PRIs appreciated the drive conducted by the department. A Cultural bonanza was also presented by the students and artists to promote the education system.
Earlier, an awareness rally was also taken out by the officers, officials and students. They also hold banners and play cards to encourage students and their parents to admit their children in Government schools.
As many as 71 new and 5 dropout admissions were also made on spot during the programme taking the total number of new admissions made in the Banihal zone during this drive in the last two weeks to 791.
