Ganderbal, December 02: The Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Ganderbal, Farooq Ahmad Baba today convened District Level Armed Forces Flag Day Committee meeting here to finalize the arrangements for the celebration of the Armed Forces Flag Day to be observed on December 07.
On this occasion, the ADC said that 7th December is observed nationwide as the Armed Forces Flag Day to honour the soldiers, sailors and airmen of India who valiantly safeguard the country’s frontiers.
At the outset, the ADC endorsed the role of Armed forces and impressed upon the participating members to resolve the issues of Ex-Servicemen on priority basis keeping in mind the services they rendered.
In the meeting it was decided that concerned Tehsidars and SHOs shall visit the families of martyrs/widows of war before 7th December.
The ADC said that the need of the hour is to increase the contribution through various means and urged the officers to take concrete measures to generate more and more funds on Armed Forces Flag Day so that the same can be used for the welfare of the Indian Armed Forces personnel.
He further impressed that a voluntary contribution box shall be set up in the DC office, in addition to the contribution made by the employees regarding Armed Forces Flag Day.
The ADC assured the Zila Sanik Officer that the District Administration is committed to undertake all necessary steps for effective resolution of issues faced by the ex-military personnel and their families. Besides, it is assured for providing a vibrant grievance redressal system at district level.
